BRIEF INTRODUCTION
The
Centre for Society University Interface & Research (CSUIR) is established
in August 2010 to bridge the disconnection between Universities and society;
which is a rich store house of knowledge and experience. CSUIR is recognized as
one of the Centres of Excellence of BPSMV, which is exclusively working of serving
the rural community with the resources, expertise, knowledge and guidance from eminent
experts from BPSMV and other International, National and state level
organizations. Centre aims to understand the concept of rural sustainability
and reinforcing self reliance and empowerment of various sections of the society.
CSUIR offers four add-on courses on Micro finance Practice and Women,
Cooperative Management, Folk Medicines and Integrated Energy & Resource Management,
in which students take admission from various internal UTDs/institutions of
BPSMV, as well as outside/fresher students. Centre organizes various community
engagement interventions in the nearby and adopted villages on different
socially relevant issues, in such a way which reflects strong character and
unique strength of our country and rural society. We have singed Memorandum of
Understanding with National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), Delhi for the
course of Cooperative Management since-2014. CSUIR and NCUI have collaboration
for teaching, training, field work exposure and extension lectures for the
students of Cooperative Management. NCUI also facilitate our students to pursue
their career in reputed Cooperative Organizations. The Centre also seeks to
formulate such programmes for women that recover traditional rural practices;
sustain and conserve the vast knowledge reservoir of rural women. During the
COVID-19, the CSUIR was continuously in the field and involved with community
people and Gram Panchayat members of all five adopted villages to aware about
COVID-19, vaccination and treatment.
Vision
CSUIR is established with a vision to address challenges and
issues confronted by rural communities and to improve their quality of life.
Centre benefits the women, rural poor, strive to
energies the democratic decentralization processes, initiate to improve the
operation and efficiency of rural development interventions and promote
transfer of technology in a sustainable way through its direct interventions
with the Community.
Mission
To empower rural community through
identifying their deep, local, regional experiences and learning and further transformed
into an ethical and meaningful ways to bring positive changes in their life. Being situated within the
rich and complex rural areas, Centre provides a rigorous and practical
education of the highest quality, training and field exposure to passionate and
engaged students of the various courses from diverse backgrounds. Centre aims
to develop intellectual and creative capacities in the students in a supportive
scholarly community that prioritizes student learning within and beyond our
classrooms and further make them capable to be resource in helping the issues
of rural community.
