About Us

Brief Introduction about the Department of Mathematics
It is well known that Mathematics plays a central role in socio-economic development at nationally and globally. To promote and cater the needs of girl’s student in Mathematics domain in rural Haryana, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya established the Department of Mathematics in 2013 to pursue research and academic courses in Mathematics. Initially, two year postgraduate programme in Mathematics was started. Since its inception, multiple efforts are underway to strengthen the department and later on in 2020 Ph.D. (Mathematics) program was started. The department is well-recognized for its apex level infrastructure and in process of upgradation of various facilities continuously. The department is devoted to create a center of excellence for training, research and development in the Mathematics in rural Haryana. It also provides a platform to students for mutual sharing of thoughts and knowledge of highly moral, ethical, and professional standards. All academic programmes are designed and administered, with adequate depth and width within the extended views of Mathematics. The department has well equipped computer lab funded by RUSA and CURIE grant based upon the latest technologies pertaining to different sectors. These facilities are also made accessible to other departments of the University and department also shares various central facilities of university.
Department of Mathematics is among the pioneer centers that build a broad-based theoretical background of Mathematical Sciences and practical training in computing, numerical methods, and mathematical modeling. Alumni of department are pursuing higher education as well as successful careers in Research and Development, software industries, financial institutions to name only a few. The department has innovative, multi-disciplinary, research-based group of faculties and nonteaching staff that develops scientific temperament and procedures to educate the next generation students.
