About Us

Brief Introduction

 

Department of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (DPER) is a Department of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan (Sonipat) & situated at South Campus of the University i.e. at Bhainswal Kalan. South Campus of the University is a sprawling pollution free campus & spread in 20 acre land. DPER was established in 2009 for providing an opportunity to female candidates to join Pharmaceutical Profession and offer course Bachelor of Pharmacy (Degree). DPER is duly approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.


Pharmacy is a noble profession, offers job opportunities in various fields such as Pharmaceutical Industries, Research, Teaching, Hospitals, Regulatory, Defense sector etc. There is a great demand of Competent Pharmacy graduates not only in our country but also across the world.


Department is having best infrastructural facilities to provide the quality education to budding Pharmacists. Highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members not only teach the theory and practical classes but also interact with the students and motivate them in their studies and extracurricular activities to bring out their hidden talents.

DPER has adopted the Rules & Syllabus for Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) prescribed by PCI, New Delhi.

Smart class rooms have been created with Interactive boards & LCD projectors for effective teaching to the Students. Active learning is also emphasized through the use of the student response system, laboratory exercises, reflective writing, power point presentations, animations etc. to sharpen the mind and to help the students to accurately and completely absorb the basics of their topics.


Computer Lab with all the computers of latest configuration has been set up at the South Campus.

Departmental Library is enriched with more than 2000 books having a good number of titles, National & International Journals, magazines etc. Online Journals (E-Journals) are also available. Medicinal Garden with good number of plants is available at south campus of University.


To develop the Communication Skills of the students, practical training through Language Lab is provided. University provides various scholarships to needy and meritorious students to encourage their performances.

Hostel facility especially for Pharmacy students is also available at South Campus of the University for the students of distant places.

Laboratories Facilities

  • Department has adequate number of Laboratories to provide Practical knowledge to students related to their course.
  • Department also has a Central Instrumentation Laboratory for performing Research work with highly efficient Equipments like HPLC, Brookfield Viscometer, UV, Flame photometer etc.
  • Department has a separate machine room with all types of Industrial equipments used for formulation like Tablet punching machine, Capsule filling machine, Ball mill etc.

Hostel Facility

  • The Department provides magnificent Hostel facility especially for Pharmacy students at South Campus. Hostel is newly constructed with 24 hours power back-up facility and all other essential facilities.
  •  Rooms are well furnished with separate bed, locker & study table for each student and have been designed to provide ample air and light. Mess providing hygienic and nutritious Indian vegetarian food. Recreational facilities are also available at the hostel.

  • Classrooms were equipped with ICT tools.
  • Various cultural and sports activities were performed for holistic development of students.
  • Canteen is also available at South Campus, Bhainswal Kalan. 
  • Haryana Roadways transport facility is available for the students of South Campus, Bhainswal Kalan. It is well connected with all nearby cities like Sonipat about 35 km, Rohtak about 30 Km, Gohana about 17 km, Kharkhoda about 30 km and Khanpur Kalan about 20 km.
  • Department has a pollution free and eco-friendly environment.
