We have pleasure in welcoming you to Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya’s web portal. Education is a process which contributes in building socio-economic infrastructure of the nation; as such educational system plays a prominent role in shaping the future of the nation. The key to that success is the young aspirant you who desire to join this University. The transformation of your mind with its limitless potential will make this University a class of its own. It is possible only if your share the dream and passion to achieve it. Procuring an admission in this University is not the achievement but to sustain the goal, learn and unlearn in the journey, to practice the profession with highest ethical standards and to involve pro-actively in the issue facing the society, is the real achievement.

A university has a ‘graded’ order of significant people in it: the students are placed highest, followed by the faculty and administration. In other words, a university is what its students are and they are what their teachers make them. The administration supports the two, lending whatever assistance is required, eventually, for the emancipation of students. “Emancipation” becomes all the more critical in BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, owing to it being a university exclusively for women.

The administration played its part to the best of its potential and purview. It has been an honour and a privilege for me to be leading a cohort of such dedicated employees, dedicated to a university that is dedicated to the noble cause of “empowering women”.

While the University has come a long way since its inception, it has to keep pace with the changing needs and expectations of the society. It has to successfully perform the multiple roles of creating new knowledge, acquiring new capabilities and producing an intelligent human resource pool for the promotion of economic growth, cultural development, social cohesion, equity and justice. Let us work collectively and systematically to promote growth of this institution and make it the first choice of students.
